Entry requirements

Nationals and foreign residents.

Electronic Affidavit. It shall be completed 48 hours before starting the journey and submitted upon boarding to the operator of the international means of transport. People over 70 years of age are excepted.

The person must declare the places where they were in the last 14 days prior to entering the country.

A negative PCR test, taking the sample 72 hours before boarding, with the exceptions provided for; the details of the PCR test shall be provided in the sworn statement.
Children under 6 years of age are not required to have a PCR test.

There are exceptions:
• People who had COVID-19 within 90 days before entry, as confirmed by a laboratory, submitting the corresponding proofs and medical discharge (after more than 10 days from the diagnosis) They will have to accredit the results of the diagnostic tests for SARS-COV-2 and add the medical discharge after more than ten days of said diagnosis.

• Those who stayed at national airports for less than 24 hours.
• Those who cannot obtain a PCR test in the place of origin shall attach to the Sworn Statement a note proving that it was not possible to have such a test, and a medical certificate indicating that they are asymptomatic.

Upon arrival, the passengers' temperature shall be measured and a test for SARS-CoV-2 shall be performed, and another one on the 7th day from their entry, thus ending the compulsory isolation to be complied with. If it is positive, it should also be made to your close contacts.

  • Obligation, people will be isolated in the places determined by the provincial governments and the City of Buenos Aires for 10 days, counted from the test carried out in the country of origin.
  • The cost of the stay shall be borne by the person entering the country.
  • You must download and use the CUIDAR application of the MINISTRY OF HEALTH for the self-assessment of COVID-19 symptoms.
  • It will be controlled that those who returned from a trip are fulfilling the isolation in their declared addresses and, in case of verifying the breach of isolation, the offending conduct will be immediately stopped and criminal complaints will be filed for violation of measures against epidemics and disobedience to public authority. The penalties could range from SIX (6) months to TWO (2) years in prison, and from FIFTEEN (15) days to ONE (1) year in prison, respectively.
  • The provinces must control compliance with the isolation of people entered from abroad.
  • If there is an infected person, she and her close contacts must carry out isolation in the places provided by the corresponding national authorities and destined for this purpose, until the safe transfer to their place of residence is carried out, if applicable.

Non-Resident Foreigners

Bear in mind that entry for tourist purposes is not permitted.

In addition to the information already provided for nationals and residents, for the exceptional entry of non-resident foreigners, it is required to have a special traveller's insurance with coverage against COVID-19. The insurance must be attached to the Sworn Statement.
