Preguntas Frecuentes

The information comes from official sources and documents. For the purposes of greater accuracy and currency of the information, Suramérica Abierta is updated by focal points operating in government agencies concerned with the contents posted.

The information is revised and updated on an on-going basis by the focal point designated by the participating government. However, in light of the changing context, its accuracy cannot be ensured and no liability can be assumed for any errors or omissions.

The participating governments, through the competent Ministries and Departments, have designated a focal point in charge of systematising and updating the contents of the web site.

The web site is jointly managed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) Member States and associated States.

This project is part of the Suramérica Abierta program aimed at creating a platform enabling access to accurate and reliable information on the measures adopted by governments in this region in terms of human and health mobility to face the COVID‑19 pandemic. This platform concept was approved, at the proposal of the Argentine Republic, at the MERCOSUR Specialized Migration Forum (FEM, for its initials in Spanish), and at the South American Conference on Migration (SACM).

Currently, the fem and the Border Management network of the South American Conference on Migration are the spaces for exchange and monitoring of this project.
